Supported Employment Services Offered

Individual Supported Employment is a multi-dimensional program providing job placement and training to individuals who require a high level of support. A "Job Coach" is assigned to each individual to help prepare them for their job search and to provide on the job training once they are employed. In fact, individuals continue to receive intensive one-on-one support until they are ready to work independently and long-term supports for as long as they maintain the job or decide for themselves that they no longer need the support.

Community Workforce Solutions, Inc. understands the importance of supporting the individual, the family, and the employer and we provide all of the necessary services to help individuals achieve their goals. The types of services offered in the Supported Employment Program include:

  • Developing Person Centered Plans
  • Identifying workplace accommodations
  • Teaching job seeking and interviewing skills
  • Development of job leads
  • Completion of job applications
  • Writing resumes and cover letters
  • On the job training
  • Developing positive relationships with co-worker(s) and supervisor(s)
  • Providing short-term job retention and/or career advancement
  • Providing Training on how to use public transportation
  • Identifying community advocacy resources

Persons desiring Supported Employment are often involved with other agencies and may have a multitude of needs. Community Workforce Solutions, Inc. works with other agencies to support an individual's goals. Funding for the job search and training process is most often through Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Supported Employment is offered in all locations and counties served by Community Workforce Solutions, Inc.

Work Adjustment Job Coaching

Work Adjustment Job Coaching services provide one-on-one support in matching the individual with the job and in assuring that the indivudual is well trained and adjusted to their new job. Supports are provided as needed by the individual and may include any of the following:

  • Job seeking skills
  • Interviewing skills
  • Arranging accommodations
  • Employer education and support
  • Assuring orientation to the new work environment
  • Helping the individual adapt to co-workers and supervision
  • Assuring understanding and success in new job tasks
  • Supporting on-the-job skills development
  • Supporting the development of job retention skills
  • Development of natural supports to support job retention

Once an individual is independent in performing their new job, Job Coaches continue follow-up with the employee and employer for three months to assure that both parties are satisfied.
