Alternatives to traditional employment
Group Supported Employment and Mobile Crews
For people who wish to work competitively, yet have a need for more support than is available in an individual employment site, we offer Group Supported Employment. The work is most often janitorial/house keeping or outdoor maintenance/lawn care. Groups of no more than 8 employees work with one supervisor. Mobile Work Crews go to several work sites throughout the community, rather than remaining at one site. We work cooperatively with the area MH/DD/SAS authority and currently maintain mobile crews to work at:
- Raleigh Parks and Recreation
- Vance County Extension Services
- City of Henderson
For some, this method serves as a stepping-stone to Individual Employment Service.
