Community Re-Entry
Community Re-Entry is a work and community transition program borne out of the effort to reduce psychiatric hospitalizations. This program is a cooperative effort between our Henderson site and Five County Mental Health Authority in which services are quite varied and include the following:
- General support services
- Job search training
- Job trials/tours
- Volunteer work
- Social and community activities
- Exploration of job goals
- Job placement
- Job coaching with one-on-one on-the-job training
- Close follow-up after employment/re-training when needed
- Crisis support services
Individuals in the Community Re-Entry program have found work in a variety of job types including: retail stores, food services, grocery stores, medical facilities, child development centers, and more. Some of these positions have been within companies like Wal-Mart, Food Lion, McDonalds, and Lowe's Home Improvement. The types of positions individuals fill include: stocking and receiving, laundry services, customer service, housekeeping, clerical, etc.
